Tonya Harding…and Girl Scout Cookies
Posted in: Uncategorized by admin on February 22, 2008
We saw the world premiere of Tonya and Nancy: The Rock Opera last night. It had all the camp value that one would expect from such a theme. We really, really enjoyed it. While Tonya was not in the show, she did come to opening night and made an appearance after the show for what was a rather intimately-sized audience. She was incredibly gracious and really seemed to be into the whole thing. She actually laughed more than most of the audience did throughout the show. It was great to see her. She's iconic now. And yes, she still has that hair and those tits after all these years!
The show itself is brilliant in concept. Still has some performance things to work out, but I think this can be a hit. I loved the perspective that the director took by having one woman play the mother of both Tonya and Nancy, switching characters on stage at times. It really brought home the point that both girls were skating and pushing themselves *because of* their mothers - Tonya because her mother was abusive and certifiably nuts, and Nancy because her mother was legally blind and only saw a princess in her daughter.
I had forgotten how angry Nancy was after willing Olympic silver in 1994. She felt that she was entitled to gold. What a cunt she turned out to be.
In other news, it's Girl Scout cookie time in Portland. As I was leaving my local Fred Meyer's today, I was literally wondering if I had missed the annual tradition. Then as I walked to my car, two green-vested Nancy Kerrigans came prancing by with shopping carts full of new boxes of cookies. They were getting ready to start the season as I was leaving the lot.
YAY!!!! Samoas!!!! *nomnomnomnomnomnom*

Sick of being sick

Why do they call it walking pneumonia when the LAST fucking thing you want to do is go for a walk when you're sick with it?
I've had this shit for a week now, and have been consistently grody since NYE. I missed most of last week's classes, including an exam which she's going to let me make up this week. Fortunately I have antibiotics now and they seem to be starting to work.

He says that right-wing fucktards (from Arizona and Tennessee, none-the-less) are wrong and can't whine about the way that the State of Oregon tallied their signatures in a referendum attempt to block a domestic partnership law passed by the state legislature.
Of course, you can't keep a good fundy down. There is already an appeal in the works, plus two other attempts to get a public vote on repealing both the non-discrimination act and the domestic partnership act which were passed into law by the state legislature last year.
All this trouble from OUT OF STATE religious shiteaters…here's a link to their website so you can see just how busy they are and will continue to be. They wanna get up in all y'alls shit, no matter where you live.
